Looking for a vacation rental property management company? Here's what to consider!
Types of Flooring
When it comes to owning rental property, any type of flooring needs to be able to withstand much more abuse than the usual household. A & B carries several great carpet options for rental property, leaving owners and landlords confident for years. Two big carpet sellers are Resista and Dreamweaver. Resista is most reputable for it's bells and whistles while Dreamweaver is a great, mid-range option made with polyester fibers that hold up well in rentals.Shop Carpet
Vinyl or LVT
Ultimately, you want to protect your investment; although hardwood flooring is beautiful, it isn’t indestructible especially in an environment where flooring may not always be getting the proper care. Vinyl products such as Tarquett, Karndean, or Mohawk are best suited for rental properties due to ease of maintenance, their dazzling rustic wood or stone appearance, waterproof, and adaptability for any level of home. We recommend avoiding click, lock planks and sheet vinyl due to dramatic moisture and temperature fluctuations during off-season rentals.Shop Vinyl
Providing durability and longevity, most have forgotten the benefits of laminate; however, it isn't always the best option for folks in the Outer Banks rental world. Its pros make laminate reputable for being durable, affordable, and easy to maintain but it is susceptible to moisture damage. Laminate is typically not our recommended product because it does not expand and contract well during the change of seasons.Shop Laminate
Tile is a popular option in areas that experience high-humidity as well as moisture and comes highly recommended to those second home property owners, particularly porcelain tile flooring. Ceramic tile, however, requires much more care and maintenance which often times is not the best solution in rental situations. We carry Milatzi, Daltile, and Happy Floors which are all beautiful options. Tile can be more costly and time consuming to install.Shop Tile
Hardwood provides the timeless, classic ambiance in any environment but due to its natural characteristics, it expands and contracts and in a rental home, can be difficult to replace if damaged. Our recommendation is an engineered wood flooring option and pre-finished like Suncrest or U.S Floors. There's no mess and the wood itself is composed of three to five layers making it able to adapt where moisture and temperature changes are prevalent.Shop Hardwood
